After the extension is installed, all tickets will have the new section Public links for Jira available under the Details section. There you can generate a link that will allow external users to view ticket details without being a part of the Jira instance.
To create a link:
The link generation might take a few seconds. After it’s completed, the section will have a new button called Public link.
To share a link, click the Public link button it will redirect you to the new page where you can preview the public view before sharing it with anyone.
What external users can see:
To share a link, copy the link and send it through your regular messaging channels or an email.
Once the details of the original ticket change, the public view will automatically be updated too. No additional actions are required. Please note, that this applies only to details visible in the public view. E.g. if the assignee has changed, the public view will not reflect that as the assignee's name is not a part of the public view of the issue.
External users can add comments directly from the public view. To do that, they need to sign in or log in first.
Option #1 Sign in with Email.
To sign in with an email, click ‘Sign in with an email’, and enter the name and email address. Then confirm the email through the authentification link.
Option #2 Sign in with Google.
To sign in with the Google account, click ‘Sign in with Google’ and follow the steps.
After authorisation is completed, an external user can leave comments. All comments left through the public view will be added to the original ticket along with the name and email of the external user who left it.
The public comments are visible to everyone who uses the link as well as the name of the author. Comments left through Jira are not visible in the public view.
